I painted it Glidden's "Bisque" that I had picked up on clearance (it turns out it is a great off white) and then placed my cubby piece on top, I could never find a good place for this piece but I think I have found it for now. And with Easter coming I thought what would be better inside the cubbies than eggs?
I just found the two pieces of ironstone at the thrift store on Monday, 2 dollars a piece, can't beat that!
I love the change in seasons, it always inspires me to rearrange and rethink the way I have things. In the process you get to clean and clear out the past seasons clutter, it is so cathartic.
And speaking of decluttering I have been going through a lot of my things and many of them are going to end up in my Etsy shop....here are just a few of the things that I have decided to let go of and already listed.

Nice pics Meg. Is the new table and cubby in your living room? It sure looks nice, I like the eggs in it. . . reminds me of something out of a chicken coop. Happy spring. . . I thought of you today with the awful school stabbing. . . hopefully this finds everything safe in your world. . . not your hubbys school I hope. . . {{{hugs}}} ~d
ReplyDeleteThank you Debi, it wasn't Neal's school but it was my sisters kid's district, they are okay but it was very upsetting for us. Thanks for thinking of me:)
DeleteThat cubby will be so fun to change out for different seasons! SOOO glad spring is here!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about your gorgeous home!
ReplyDeleteYour little table is adorable, and I love the cubbies on it! Be sure to come share at Knick of Time Tuesday!

Luv the eggs in your little cubbies. :) So pretty Meg.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Megan... And everything around in your house... I have to tell you, that I have the same linen towel as you. But with red stripes. Alexandra
ReplyDeleteThe cubbies with eggs is such a great idea - love how it looks on the table. Your home is amazing. I keep looking back through previous posts , and I absolutely love how it has all come together. You have such a talent for decorating, and your home truly has that comfortable, welcoming farmhouse feel. I live in a colonial, but am slowly incorporating farmhouse touches after seeing what you have accomplished - I love your style - and hopefully I can make my home just as warm & inviting as yours.
ReplyDeleteLove the sap bucket on your table! The cubby is a perfect idea for all my different birds' nests and eggs I have collected over the years, so that gives me something to look for. You have some amazing thrift stores to be able to pick up an ironstone bowl like the one with the handles for $2. Don't you just love finds like that? Ordering my Citristrip today, can't wait to see how it works. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI love the boy blue painting - what a fabulous touch! Looks great.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so sweet , love the table and the cubbie holes on top of it
ReplyDeleteHi Megan! I am new to your blog. I love your cubby filled with bird's nests. How sweet. I am also your newest follower.

ReplyDeleteOlá Megan! A sua casa está muito acolhedora! Gostei imenso de ver os ninhos com ovos a decorar:) Um abraço, Manuela
ReplyDeleteThe new table is a lovely piece and your home looks great. I especially like the blue and white quilts in the crate.
ReplyDeleteI've been spring cleaning like a mad woman too! It feels so good. Only a couple more rooms to go and then windows. Yippeee. Love your new little table, and your right it's just perfect for your cubbies.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog, and I am absolutely in love with your style! I've been trying to work toward the same white rustic farmhouse look over the past few years. It is so hard to make a suburban duplex feel like an old farmhouse! So thank you so much for the inspiration. I love all the different white paints you use.
ReplyDeleteI love your Farmhouse, the amazing renovation work, the real shabby chid style, you have a fabulous and wonderful home!!! J'adoooooooore!!. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteEva
Your farmhouse looks so lightened up and fresh for spring! Love all the ironstone.

I so enjoyed seeing your home!!! I love the chandelier over the dining table. Can you tell me the manufacturer, please?
ReplyDeleteThe chandelier is made by Progress Lighting, we bought it on clearance at the Home Depot in 2009, it was being discontinued:(
