Hello friends!! I wanted to share our front porch all decorated for autumn with you guys!! We have been busier than ever working on both the exterior and the interior of the farmhouse (blog post coming soon with all of the details) and it has wreaked havoc on the house but I still like having little areas that are pretty because it keeps me semi-sane. I waited all of these years for this front porch to be restored and usable and I find so much joy in making it cute for the different seasons.
Cornstalks, bittersweet, and pumpkins all seem to compliment each other so well don't they?
One of the vendors that has a booth near mine at the Springfield Extravaganza gave me a bunch of bittersweet for a great price at the end of the show in September. I took a small bunch of it and tied it with a linen ribbon (that I made) and hung it on the front storm door.
My mom was getting rid of this old wicker rocker and I thought it seemed perfect for the porch. I bought the little table at the Antiques On the Lake show we did here in Edinboro. The urn is from the Taylor Antique Mall (where I have a booth) and the lanterns as well. Its hard to stock my booth without buying something there!!
I picked up the ballast fork (used for moving stones on the railroad tracks) for five bucks at a yard sale over the summer. I love its red handle and my dad drove trains for 40 years so I thought it would be a cool thing to own.
I wish I actually had the time to sit out on our front porch, hopefully some day!! I think I only got to do so once this whole summer and I can't wait to share more about that special day and some exciting news...hint hint we wanted to be outside so that we wouldn't be in the photographers way!!
Until next time friends!!
