Weekly Inspiration ~ Pillows

Hello and welcome to my weekly inspiration post! This weeks inspiration is ..... PILLOWS!!! If you love decorating then you probably love pillows like I do! They are such a quick and easy way to change up a room.

I use mostly neutral colored pillows with a subtle stripe or check mixed with solid colored tan, cream, and white pillows.  I like to create texture with a mixture of store bought pillows and ones that I make with either vintage fabrics or reproduction fabrics like ticking. Soft fabrics like linen and muslin and antique ticking that has been washed hundreds of times ensures a super comfy couch to rest on.

For example the pillow on top here is from LL Bean and the one under it is one that I made using ticking and muslin.

My rule is that all of our pillows have to be able to move from room to room and still match...cause that is exactly what happens...I either want to change things up or my kids are making a fort or we have lots of family here laying on all of the couches.

I still make the linen and ticking pillows seen above and sell them in my Etsy shop and have recently begun sewing pillows made with vintage coverlets. Coverlets are soft and have such a beautiful texture that they make for the perfect pillow cover.

My absolute favorite type of pillow is a blue and white ticking feather pillow...they are just perfection in my opinion and will forever be in style.

Well I hope you enjoyed this weeks inspiration! I have been busy busy busy getting ready for the Springfield, Ohio Antique Extravaganza May 19, 20, 21st. I probably won't have the time to do anymore weekly inspirations until after the show but I do plan on doing a post showing some of the goodies I am taking there! Until next time friends!

Weekly Inspiration ~ Ironstone Pitchers All Lined Up

Welcome! This weeks inspiration is IRONSTONE PITCHERS! Yes I know I just did IRONSTONE  as the last "Weekly Inspiration" and I had actually just about finished a post on a whole other topic... HOWEVER...I was cleaning which turned into rearranging and all of these beauties ended up on our mantle and I just had to share!

Some of the reasons that I am drawn to old ironstone pitchers are their shape, their timeless beauty, their functionality, their story...I just love them plain and simple. Sometimes I look back at pictures of our home and regret using something in my decor but never with these.

I love that they are each a little bit different, a little different shade of white or shaped a little bit differently. And although they can be pricey in antique shops and online I've never paid over $25  for one.

Thanks for stopping by and please bear with me in the next four weeks because I am getting ready for the Springfield Antique Extravaganza in May and it is hard to find time at my computer! I have so many goodies for the show (which I hope to show you a peek at soon) and I hope to see a lot of you there!
