Well it's that time of year...time to stay inside and snuggle up with a warm quilt! This Farmhouse Inspiration post is all about adding a little touch of red. I like doing so with antique white linens that have a little bit of red in them combined with simple white ironstone and red berries or stems.
When the outside is white with snow I love the cozy feel a touch of red can make with all of the whites inside.
This vintage bucket with red berry stems is headed to my booth at the Taylor Antique Mall for the Christmas Open House this weekend! I can't begin to tell you guys how much fun it is having a booth...I love having a little space to continuously tweak and make pretty. However, it makes me long to have my own shop even more...I just love the art of display and I have so many ideas and I have so much inventory...its taking over the house and garage!
I've been sewing like crazy trying to keep my Etsy Shop stocked with the linen and ticking pillows that I make...I think the red ones are just perfect for this time of year.
I have started decorating some of the house for Christmas, it is proving a challenge this year with all of the work we have going on with the master bedroom renovations. All of the stuff that was upstairs is downstairs right now until we have our bedroom done. Plus we have some new pieces for the bedroom that have to be downstairs until the upstairs is ready. I am in the process of painting the ship lap we are using for the ceiling (like we did in the family room) and there are about a hundred boards and because they are so long the only place I have to paint them is the dining room table...so....that is kind of hard to decorate around!! You guys know me though, I always have to have some areas pretty and I can't wait to share with you guys what I have decorated and also some new pieces of furniture that I am super excited about! So until next time friends and happy December!
The red wreath on your front door is proof positive that one little punch of color can change everything.
ReplyDeleteI simply love all of the red against white touches, you have a great eye!
Happy Holidays, Megan!

I agree with the other comment. That simple red wreath is so pretty. Your home is so inspiring. I love the red touches.
ReplyDeleteI think your perfect touches of red in your gorgeous home nailed it!
ReplyDeleteExciting about your master reno - it's sooooo difficult to do home improvements during the holidays. (And sooooo worth it when it is finished!)
Have a blessed Advent season.
Simply beautiful..
