I have greens tucked just about everywhere I can get them.
This time of year I basically always have a batch of cookies in the oven...the kids love helping me and I love teaching them how to bake.
Our dining room is finally finished and I was soooo excited to be able to decorate it! I just love being able to look out all of our new windows in here and see the snow falling and the deer walking through our orchard eating the apples. Living in the snow belt has its disadvantages but when it comes to this time of year it is wonderful for getting you in that Christmas spirit!
I will do a true tour of this room after Christmas but I am so happy with the way the floors came out and I just love the new front door that Neal built us.
I covered the table with a long white table cloth and then covered that with an antique French sheet.
I used Ikea $1 clearance plates, Target "placemats" and antique silverware for a simple place setting.
I made the kids a goodie bag advent calendar and there are only three bags left to open...you know what that means...Christmas Day is almost here!!! The kids are super excited and Neal and I are excited to have a couple of days that are work free and relaxing with our family.
Oh, Megan...The sweetest, coziest rooms! I would just want to curl up all winter and watch the now fall outside. When I think of some of the earliest photos that you posted on your blog of your renovations......Well, you have come so far with true grit, vision, creativity and much hard work. Merry Christmas to you and yours! Thank you for always sharing!

Your home, without a doubt, is one of my favorite farmhouses ever. I have been following you for years and your creativity and natural decorating abilities, along with Neal's know how, never ceases to amaze me. Love the whites, creams, ironstone, linens, wood, natural greens-everything. "All is calm, All is bright" is what I think of when I view your home at Christmastime. Thank you (and Neal) for giving us a tour of your lovely farmhouse. Blessings in the New Year.

ReplyDeleteMegan,
DeleteThis is the first time I've left a comment on your blog so please bear with me! Thank you so much for sharing your very lovely and very beautiful farmhouse with us! I just recently began following you. I am a city girl who dreams about living in the country. I've lived in So Cal all of my life and I can hear the Disneyland fireworks every night at 9:35p, but I'd much rather look out my window and see deer in my orchard!
Like you, I'm blessed with a husband who is a gifted woodworker. Oddly enough he is an accountant by trade. On Saturdays he spends his time turning the inside of our 1958 stucco-sided tract home into a Craftsman-style home and I'm decorating it with a farmhouse flare. My husband's current project is remodeling our kitchen. He is building new cabinets with wood counters out of white oak and we'll be purchasing IKEA's double bowl farmhouse sink. What has made me smile is some of the Lowe's lighting we have put in our home is identical to yours and we purchased it before I began following you.
You've inspired me to start collecting ironstone, but unfortunately it's quite pricey in our local antique stores and there are no $2 finds at my local Goodwill!
I'm looking forward to your posts in 2017 for more inspiration! Happy New Year!
The City Girl (who would much rather be living on a farm :)
Your house is just so pretty! I love looking at all your images. Just makes me want to curl up on that comfy looking sofa of yours with a good book, a cuddly throw blanket and some coffee. Keep up all the inspiration!
