The seller even included some dried lavender in the package so it smelled wonderful!
And this past weekend I bought this awesome very very old chippy door at a shop in the town I was born and raised in, Harmony, PA. It is a historic town with some really great shops and old buildings if you ever happen to be passing through.
Isn't she a beauty?
Welcome to all of my new followers, and many thanks for all of the very sweet comments you guys have been leaving! It makes me beyond happy to know that I am inspiring some people out there, I am old things and decorating obsessed and I love to hear that others are too!
The weather has been very yucky here and I love it! It has been below 10 degrees and blizzard like all week and this is when I go into organizing, soup making, rearranging rooms mode! I am in the process of making some changes to my living room and guest room, I promise to show pictures of the updates soon!
this is all beautiful! And Harmony - what a perfect name for a town.
ReplyDeleteYour displays are lovely. The door is really cute and perfectly worn. Did you cut it down or was it that petite size when you bought it?
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth! The door was that size when I bought it, I love how little it is, you don't see that size very often!
DeleteGreat finds! I love the linen you picked out and I adore the door almost as much! Oh and before I forget I'm crazy about the cow print hanging above your coat rack. I've seen it before in past posts but forget to comment on it. I always enjoy when it pops up in a post.
ReplyDeleteI too love the cow print, I had noticed it before, love the linens from France yet, how exciting!
ReplyDeleteGreat door! Your pictures are wonderful! ~
ReplyDeleteOh I just love the old door and linens and the vintage ironstone! Where did you find those scalloped bowls??
ReplyDeleteThank you Elma! I bought the largest scalloped bowl at an antique sale years ago for $5, a truly lucky find and one of my favorite things. The others are from estate sales and Ebay. I am on a constant ironstone hunt!
DeleteOh, what a charming door! I love ironstone too, but I don't have too much yet. I did score a wonderful large pitcher at a garage sale last summer for just $5. You have such a beautiful collection.
ReplyDeleteSuch a charming little door! Glad that you are having the weather that you love so much.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Hi! I read about your blog over at Blue Clear Sky and she was right. You have a wonderful blog!
ReplyDeleteThis is very beautiful! I love the linens!

Beautiful collections and displays-your blog is so tasteful and inspiring
ReplyDeleteI am totally in love with your beautiful old farmhouse and how you make her so totally charming
ReplyDeleteYou must really adore that door too much! Have you ever considered painting it? Painting can help to preserve the lifespan of a wooden door. Varnish would be perfect for it! Just sayin’!

Hello, Megan! I replaced my old door with a new one last month. I now have a French door, but I didn’t throw my old panel door away. I found a way in order to make use of it and for it to still be functional in my home. I painted it with glossy colors and simply hung it on the wall. At first, I didn’t find it fascinating, but as time went by and as more and more people noticed it, I got to appreciate it even more.
