I Need A Clone

I think I said the same thing last year at this time but Spring always makes me wish I had a clone. That way one of me could work outside and one of me could work inside. There is always so much to do this time of year and just not enough hours in the day. I LOVE working out in my yard and have spent the last week edging, weeding and mulching. What I don't love is coming in at 7 in the evening and having all the dirt that was tracked in stick to your feet because you haven't had time to wash the floor in the last couple of days and having the piles of stuff you bought at the flea market scattered all about. Needless to say I don't have much time for blogging in the Spring. And I wish I did because I have found so many great things over the past couple of weeks that I am dying to share with you guys. I have really lucked out at estate sales and the flea market, lots of stuff to sell and lots of stuff to keep:)

Here is some the stuff I bought at the flea market yesterday.

When I am not working outside I have been working on getting Eli's new room painted so that I can start the baby's room. In the meantime I have a huge pile of stuff accumulating outside the nursery and I can't wait to get started on it!

Here is a sneak peek at some of the items I have for the baby's room.

My viburnum is in full bloom so I made sure I found the time to take some pictures of the beautiful blossoms.

I am also making some finishing touches to my sewing/craft room so that I can share it with you sometime soon so stay tuned for that!

And MANY THANKS to Jennifer over at Town and Country Living for featuring our home in her Charming Farmhouse Series! What an unbelievable honor!

Dining Room On A Sunny Morning

It was such a beautiful sunny morning that I just had to take some pictures.

Come this time of year I spend most of my day working outside in the yard so I like to keep things simple inside.

You can see that the couch is back in its original position. My mom was getting a new couch so we got her old one and put it in our new family room as it is longer and more comfortable. The pattern on the couch my mom gave us is not my style (not my mom's either that is why she didn't want it anymore) so I ordered a slip cover for it. I just didn't feel like I had the brain power to make this one myself like I did for our other couch. I will show you how the slip cover looks when it arrives!

I have been in a save every penny mood lately, even more than usual, because there are so many costly things that we are working towards for the house, like siding for instance. Sometimes I feel like all of my efforts inside are pointless when my house looks as bad as ours does on the outside. But I have really been lucky lately as far as finding great things at really good prices. Like this watering can for instance was only $5 at TJ Maxx, and the cute wire basket was also only $5 and they both look perfect in my $4 estate sale wooden tray. Even the white azalea was less than $5!

One thing I can not find however are cute baby girl clothes. Everything is bright pink, with scratchy bows and ugly butterflies! When I was pregnant with Eli I used to see the prettiest baby girl stuff and now of course we are having a girl and I have yet to see anything subtle and pretty:(

My sincere thanks for all of your sweet congratulations on my pregnancy! You guys are the best! I haven't even started the baby's room yet, we have to do some work to the guest room before we move Eli in there. But I know just how I want it to look and have been collecting things over the years in the hopes I had a girl and promise to share it all with you!

Make Room For Baby

I have two exciting things to share with you! First I wanted to let you guys know that TJMaxx has these beautiful vintage looking red stripe dish towels in their stores right now! They have a couple different color choices including blue stripe and you get 2 for $3.99! I was so excited! Finally stores (that are afforable) have reproduction textiles that I am always on the hunt for.

Isn't the antique bread board a beauty? I will be listing it in my Etsy shop sometime next week.

And on to the second thing that I wanted to share with you...I am pregnant and Neal and I are expecting a baby girl this summer! We couldn't be more excited!!!

That means that our guest bedroom won't be looking like this much longer because Eli will be moving into this room and we will be making his room into the nursery. Moving things around, organizing and redecorating....ahhhh just what I live for:)

Therefore I will be selling some of the items from the guestroom. Keep a lookout for them in my Etsy shop in the coming weeks.

Dining Room Pictures

Some pictures of the house....just because it has been awhile:) Enjoy!

My most recent thrift store finds, a white covered serving dish and four white plates fit right in with all of my other white pieces.

A while back I said I was going to designate certain posts to reader questions, I am struggling to find blogging time lately but I promise I am still going to that!

Spring Changes

It is finally starting to feel and look like Spring here and as I was Spring cleaning I did some rearranging too. I recently acquired this adorable little table, yet another hand me down from my sister.

I painted it Glidden's "Bisque" that I had picked up on clearance (it turns out it is a great off white) and then placed my cubby piece on top, I could never find a good place for this piece but I think I have found it for now. And with Easter coming I thought what would be better inside the cubbies than eggs?

I just found the two pieces of ironstone at the thrift store on Monday, 2 dollars a piece, can't beat that!

I love the change in seasons, it always inspires me to rearrange and rethink the way I have things. In the process you get to clean and clear out the past seasons clutter, it is so cathartic.

And speaking of decluttering I have been going through a lot of my things and many of them are going to end up in my Etsy shop....here are just a few of the things that I have decided to let go of and already listed.
