Little White Cupboard

Lucky for me my mom didn't want this adorable white cupboard anymore.

I decided to put in our front room next to the door. I wanted to move the other little table out onto our porch come warm weather anyways.

I just love it's original white paint and it even has a little cutting board that slides out. I also found a "Good Housekeeping" seal of approval sticker inside.

I think it is the perfect addition to this room plus it provides us with more storage and you know how I feel about storage!

Thanks Mom :)

Happy Spring

It finally feels like Spring here! It is still a little chilly but I was able to accomplish some things outside and enjoy the sunshine while I was at it. And with all the sunshine streaming through the windows I just had to take some pictures.

Guest Bedroom Part 2

Don't you just love when you find a couple really great things that totally pull a room together?

This is the other side of our guest bedroom and I recently found just the perfect things to add to it.

The red magazine rack pictured above was a thrift store find and aside from great storage it helps carry that little bit of red that I have placed around the room.

The sideboard/dresser was a thrift store find that I painted "Bone Folder" by Martha Stewart, one of my favorite go to whites.

I just bought this tool caddy at an Antique Co-op and it is perfect for holding the little things that a guest might need.

I also bought this amazing antique basket at the same co-op, I have extra linens and blankets in it. I was so excited to find these quilted throws at Target on clearance, they are just right for this room.

I was lucky enough to visit my favorite shop, Romantique Boutique, last week and this embroidered linen from the 1800's was one of the many wonderful things I purchased.

And some clearance Ralph Lauren pillow cases add just a little bit of farmhouse charm to the bedding.

The red striped vintage bucket was also a Romantique Boutique purchase and is the perfect size for my hydrangea. I know I have said it over and over but if there is any way for you to get to that store do it! They have the most amazing things and their displays are so inspiring.

And I just had to show you this beautiful sign that my sister made me for Easter because she knows that I am white obsessed!

Guest Bedroom Part 1

This is our guest bedroom, it is the room right off of the dining room that you can see into in my last post.

Calming and cozy were what I was going for with this room.

I change up what my accent color is in this room quite a bit. Most of the time I like it without any color but with lots of different whites and textures. Right now I just have a little bit of red here and there, along with my usual creamy whites and dark wood tones.

I just got this amazing pillow with the year our house was built on it. I purchased it from The Blue Attic an Etsy shop that is full of the most wonderful French linens and hand made items. I bought a couple really great things from Nathalie that I plan to show.

The year our house was built on an antique piece of French ticking, what could be better?

I found a scrap of this red and white fabric at the thrift store the other day and it is perfect for inside the pillow case.

I also found this adorable lamp at the thrift store for $10, it is perfect for when our guests want to read, specifically my mom.

Neal built the little beside cupboard and I keep books and other things a guest might need in it. He also built the little bench that sits at the end of the bed. The antique bed frame is a hand me down from my parents and the tall bookcase is a $20 Ikea "as is" find that I painted. The molding behind the bed is out of an old farmhouse, I bought it for $7 last summer at an antique sale. So all in all this room was very inexpensive to do, but who could tell?

Stay tuned for Part 2, coming soon!
